God's Purpose God has his way of stepping in and helping us find our mission. When our youngest daughter was graduating from high school a friend of hers, Mike, needed a place to stay. That stay turned into being in our home for 3 years. Interestingly we now work as foster parents and invest in kids who have gone through some difficult times in their lives. We did not realize our time with Mike was preparing us for a future vocation. Jesus had a mission statement when he was here on earth. He said he came to “seek and to save those who are spiritually lost.” He lived his life on earth toward that mission. The thing that amazes me about Jesus was that he was in heaven where he was literally worshiped. But he chose to leave what was comfortable and easy, and was willing to endure pain, sorrow, treason, and finally death on a cross. Why? So we could be forgiven of all the ways in which we have offended his pure heart. His love is amazing. If he loved us that much, it is a small thing to give some of our love, as insipid as it is, to others around us.
